The museum is a diverse and rich collection of folk art motives applied to eggs. The primary origin of the art works is in Europe, especially the Carpathian basin region.

Works of local folk artists are shown by regions.

Decoration of eggs is an integral part of folk traditions related to Easter. At the same time it has emerged as an autonomous art form and ornamented eggs could be made, collected or exhibited as works of art independent from the festive occasion

The museum houses pieces uncommon in Europe representing far away cultures like Israel, China or Indonesia.

In the displays are folk art and applied art works using traditional egg motives.

The Museum Art on Egg has found its home in the picturesque environment of Zengővárkony at the foothills of the 682 m Zengő Mountain. The village is accessible through Route 6, turn-off 17 kilometers North of Pécs.
